A leading international financial services organisation is expanding its Private Markets Fund Accounting team in Dublin and is particularly interested in qualified or recently qualified auditors from Big Four and Top 10 audit firms.
These positions sit at a Supervisory through Manager level and offer a structured route from practice into private-markets fund accounting. You will build on the technical knowledge you have already gained through audit while developing direct, hands-on experience of fund accounting, NAV delivery and the underlying operation of private equity and private credit structures.
The position
Working with a portfolio of private equity and private credit funds, you will be involved in:
- Producing, reviewing and overseeing periodic NAVs and fund accounting deliverables.
- Reviewing capital calls, distributions, commitments and investor allocations.
- Accounting for investment activity, income, expenses, accruals and valuations.
- Reviewing management fees, performance allocations and other fund-level calculations.
- Supporting the preparation and review of financial statements and investor reporting.
- Investigating accounting issues and ensuring that reporting deadlines and internal controls are met.
- Liaising with clients, investment managers, auditors and internal specialist teams.
- Developing a broader understanding of private-markets fund structures and their full accounting lifecycle.
Who this opportunity is aimed at
This could be an excellent next step if you are currently working as an:
- Audit Senior;
- Audit Assistant Manager; or
- Recently promoted Audit Manager.
You should have:
- Recent audit experience within a Big Four, Top 10 or similarly recognised audit firm.
- Experience auditing private equity, private credit or other private-markets funds.
- Alternatively, relevant audit exposure to fund administrators, asset managers or investment managers with a significant private-markets business.
- A strong understanding of financial statements, valuations, capital activity, fee calculations and the controls surrounding the NAV process.
- An ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent qualification, or be approaching qualification.
- A genuine interest in moving from practice into a long-term career within private-markets fund accounting.
Direct NAV production experience is not required. The business understands that auditors will typically have gained their knowledge through reviewing, testing and recalculating fund accounting outputs rather than producing the NAV themselves.
