About My Client

My client is a Dublin-based UCITS asset management company, a subsidiary of a prominent European bank. The firm has rapidly expanded, currently managing approximately €35bn in assets. Specialising in fund-of-funds, single strategy funds, and Structured Solutions Funds, the company also performs all key supporting and controlling functions locally. With a team that has grown to almost 100 employees, the company is extending its authorisation to become a Super ManCo, obtaining AIFM and MiFID licences.

About the Role

We are looking for a new System Administrator/DevOps to support our IT Team. Reporting to the Head of IT, this role aims to reduce reliance on external partners by ensuring full ownership and accountability for environment management, availability, and security internally. The successful candidate will manage IT services, handle cyber security threats, and support operations. This position is a one-year fixed-term contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain various cloud-based systems.
  • Maintain system standards in line with group policies.
  • Conduct daily system monitoring, ensuring the integrity and availability of all server resources, systems, and key processes. Review system and application logs and verify scheduled job completions.
  • Manage firewalls and switches.
  • Implement and manage backup/availability strategies.
  • Repair and recover from hardware, software, or virtual infrastructure failures, coordinating with impacted parties.
  • Develop and deploy scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure using Azure DevOps, Azure Resource Manager, and Azure CLI.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and Azure Functions.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot cloud services using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics.
  • Ensure security and compliance of cloud resources using Intune, Azure Security Centre, Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud, and Azure Key Vault.
  • Collaborate with software developers and end users to ensure application quality and performance.
  • Manage incidents by analysing, solving, and correcting issues in real time.
  • Assist with information security audits.
  • Work with third-party support and service providers.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in system administration, DevOps, cloud computing, or software development.
  • Over 3 years of practical experience with Microsoft Azure.
  • Proficiency in Azure cloud services such as Azure App Service, Azure Storage, Azure SQL Database, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Service Bus, and Azure Event Grid. Experience with Snowflake is advantageous.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub, PowerShell, Bash, and Python.
  • Strong working knowledge of container-based infrastructure on Azure (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, AKS).
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices, including encryption, authentication, authorisation, and auditing.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, as well as collaboration and problem-solving abilities.
  • 3-5 years of technical experience as a systems administrator.
