Pricing Supervisor

Oversight for the preparation, review and sign-off of work completed by the team

Understanding the processes, controls and procedures operating within Market Data

 

Responsibilities 

  • Direct & inspect the daily checking of foreign exchange rates, manual price input, price exception validation, market to market pricing and stale price review for a variety of Market Data clients
  • Ensure data exceptions are fully researched, files contain all necessary back up and details are reported via email to the Valuations teams
  • Monitor Manual Price and Stale Price reports ensuring staff update details as per agreed guidelines and procedures. Ensure items are followed up on a regular basis and kept to a minimum
  • Maintain accurate details ensuring statistics are updated on a daily basis confirming volumes, timeliness and accuracy details
  • Ensure all scheduled work is completed by agreed deadlines, checklists are signed and files contain all required information prior to closing and filing
  • Where volumes are high, flag any potential service delivery issues as early as possible and assist other team members as directed by line-management.
  • Understand the theoretical/technical nature of all security, expense and fund types on Fund Accounting platform
  • Maintain a detailed and up-to-date file of technical information on all types of complex securities.
  • Ensure prompt processing, review and sign-off of set-ups on Fund Accounting platform.
  • Ensure SMDB control reports are run as per agreed schedule. Check that InvestOne reconciles to Bloomberg, all back-up is printed and data changes are pre-advised to the Valuations teams
  • Coordinate the completion of work under your review ensuring tasks are scheduled according to deadline priorities
  • Where high volumes are projected, flag any potential service delivery issues as early as possible and assist other team members as directed by line-management.
  • Participate in regular Team meetings providing updates on relevant developments and getting feedback on operational issues.
  • Promote an environment of open and clear communication and maintain a friendly and professional relationship with all internal and external parties.
  • Work with line-management to ensure people receive the required systems training and are familiar with relevant processes and controls as per agreed guidelines and procedures.
  • Participate in regular cross training within Market Data to ensure minimal dependency on individual team members.
  • Ensure staff have clear objectives and up to date job descriptions relevant to their current role
  • Prompt identification, escalation and resolution of any performance issues within the team
  • Identify and communicate new staffing requirements to line-management
  • Regular 1-2-1 meetings with direct reports
  • On-going review of operational processes and controls against written procedures and guidelines.  Document details and submit any proposed procedural changes to line-management for approval
  • Ensure audit, client, compliance, management and trustee queries are highlighted, thoroughly investigated and responded to in a timely manner
  • Ensure Key Performance Indicators of 99.75% accuracy and 97.50% timeliness are achieved and exceeded where possible.

Skills/Knowledge

Essential skills:

  • Prior experience implementing controls and writing procedures
  • Proficiency in using Bloomberg, MS Excel/Word and other relevant office systems
  • Strong clerical and keyboard skills with particular focus on accuracy and attention to detail

 

Essential knowledge: 

  • Sound technical knowledge of Market Data, Securities Administration and/or Valuations functions
  • Proactive and focused attitude to work and an ability to constantly meet deadlines
  • Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Dependability, flexibility and the ability to lead by example
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills
