IT Jobs in Ireland

In Ireland we have seen the IT market expand at pace over the last year and we continue to be a country of choice for software professionals and the majority of software companies looking to hire top IT talent. Opportunities arise in the IT sector for strong graduates and experienced professionals. Overall, Ireland boasts an exceptional global talent pool across high-demand skill sets. However, the unfortunate reality is that there is an under-supply of IT candidates in many skill areas.

There has been a vast increase in demand for for people to work in fintech jobs. These roles include web application engineers, JavaScript, PHP, Python and Ruby engineers. iOS and Android developers continue to be highly sought after. But the top three most in demand positions in 2014 were 1. JavaScript UI Frontend Developer 2. QA Tester 3. Dev Ops Engineer. Salaries have remained high and extremely competitive, for example we have seen a 10 – 15% increase in salaries at the mid-level sector of IT Jobs.

Ireland's ICT sector is world-renowned and continues to flourish. Nine of the world's top 10 ICT companies are located here and the IDA supports over 200 firms. The industry employs over 37,000 people and generates €35 billion in exports annually.

The sector now includes the top 10 ‘born on the internet’ companies, including Google, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Amazon.

It also includes the top 3 global enterprise software companies, as well as four out of the top 5 IT services companies, not to mention nine out of the top 10 global software companies and the top 3 global security software companies.

There is a trend of Irish IT professionals who have been working abroad now returning to Ireland, as the Irish ICT sector continues to improve and drive forward.
